BACOLOD CITY – For a mere P100 he owed the assailant, a 29-year-old man was stabbed in Barangay Quintin Remo, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental on Monday, April 15.
Police Major Joevito Bose, Moises Padilla police chief, said the 59-year-old suspect, who was a person with disability (PWD), approached the victim and asked him to pay his debt.
However, the victim refused to pay, and made things worse by reportedly kicking the suspect on the face, according to Bose. This prompted the suspect to retaliate by reportedly stabbing the victim in the right leg with a knife.
Bose said the victim died on the spot, while the suspect was later arrested at his residence.
Bose said the suspect had already been asking the victim to pay his debt for weeks. But, the victim would allegedly mock him by laughing at him due to his disability. One of the suspect’s eyes is blind, according to Bose.
Bose said that homicide charges will be filed against the suspect.
