New Laguna engineers
LAGUNA – DPWH Undersecretary Sec. Romeo Momo led the induction of the new set of officers of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineer-Laguna Chapter.
Laguna Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) district engineer Joel Limpengco is the new president of Philippine Institute of Civil Engineer (PICE)-Laguna Chapter.
Engr. Limpengco with new set of officers and members were inducted by their guest of honor and speaker Usec Momo in a simple induction ceremony held at the Premiere Hotel in Sta. Rosa City. Limpengco replaced Dr. Ruben Tanqueco, outgoing Chapter President. (Ferdinand Castro)
P.N.P. Region 3 tree planting
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office 3 under the leadership of Regional Director Chief Supt. Alan LM Purisima will join and participate in the commemoration of the 25th EDSA Anniversary from February 17-27, 2011 with the theme:“Tatak EDSA 25: Pilipino Ako. Ako Ang Lakas Ng Pagbabago”.
According to Supt. Karen Clark, chief of PRO3 Public Information Office, the activities highlighting the anniversary concerning the Philippine National Police (PNP) is Tree planting at 8:30 in the morning in all PNP and Military Camps on February 22, 2011, Flag Raising at 7:45 in the morning at the People’s Power Monument, EDSA and Salubungan at 4:00 in the afternoon also at the People’s Power Monument, EDSA. Valentine’s for Senior Citizens
LIMAY, Bataan – For the first time under the new municipal administration here, members of the Senior Citizens (SC) in this industrial town were hosted by a unique Valentine’s Day program by Mayor Ver Roque, titillating the SC members.
In what he called giving more importance and respect to the elder citizens, Mayor Roque wanted that the members of the Senior Citizens will be given more priority such as the granting of free medical and dental services, relief goods, and other benefits. (Mar Supnad)
Clark workers now at 60,322
CLARK FREEPORT ZONE – The number of Clark employees still continues to rise to 60,322 workers as of the end of January 31, the Customer Service Department of Clark Development Corporation reported yesterday.
Angelo “Sonny” C. Lopez, Jr., CDC’s Public Relations Department manager, said more employment record is expected to surge following this year because of the expected opening of the multi-billion-dollar investment of Phoenix Semi-Conductor of the Philippines; the expansion programs of several Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms; and Yokohama Tire Philippines, Inc. this year. Pampanga tackles waste
SAN FERNANDO CITY – Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda yesterday instructed the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) to look into the alleged reports of growing toxic waste problem in the province particularly in Fourth District.
Pineda made this order after several villages in Pampanga’s Fourth District known as sea foods industry complains the deadly toxic waste emanating and threatens the several fishponds along Pampanga river going to Manila Bay. (Franco Regala)
