Rizal tree planting
RIZAL PROVINCE — Policemen here hit "two birds with one stone" when they contributed in the protection of the environment as well as took part in the activities intended to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the EDSA People’s Power Revolution in this province.
This came as Rizal Police Provincial Office director, Senior Supt. Manuel Cesar Prieto led policemen here including all chiefs of police of the 14 police stations in the province in planting trees in vacant lots including lots occupied by the police stations.
In Antipolo City, PO3 Annalisa Reyes of the Police Community Relations Section said police personnel planted Tipolo Tree shoots in vacant lots in the vicinity of the police station as their way of greening the environment. (Nel Andrade)
Paracelis sets curfew
PARACELIS, Mt. Province — Minors in this eastern town will now have to be home by 8:00 p.m. otherwise they will have to be penalized and given disciplinary actions by the local government.
Such is the condition after the Sangguniang Bayan enacted Municipal Ordinance No. 2011-015 which the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved last January 17 through Resolution No. 2011-014.
This is an ordinance setting curfew hours for minors who roam or play on the streets, roads, plazas, parks and other public places or establishments in the municipality to address the clamor of parents, guardians and administrators of the schools to curb the significant rise in number of acts of delinquency among children in the municipality. Barangay gets tricycle
CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — Tricycle patrol and two-way radios were turned over to Barangay officials by Mayor Christian D. Natividad in order for them to be more alert and be partners of the PNP in maintaining peace and order in the whole city.
All village chiefs of Bagong Bayan, San Vicente, Bangkal. Mabolo, Tikay and Anilao, as well as other local officials in this city witnessed the blessing of the new tricycle patrol and the two-way radios.
"Bukod sa kahilingang ito ng ating mga Barangay Captains, matagal ko na ring naisip na bigyan sila ng mga tricycle patrol at two-way radios para mas mabilis ang kanilang pagresponde sa anumang tulong at pagtugon sa problema," the mayor said. (Freddie Velez)
Returnees get free housing
CAMP NAKAR, Lucena City — The local government of Camarines Sur, AFP-Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM) and Gawad Kalinga (GK) Foundation Inc. signed Thursday afternoon a memorandum of agreement (MoA) that will provide a free housing program to more than 41 former New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Bicol.
Solcom’s acting spokesman Lt. Col Antonio G. Villamin, said that the model community will help the former rebels and their families in starting a new life under the folds of the law. (Danny Estacio)
Fisherman rescued in La Union
CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union — A fisherman, who was reportedly missing in four days, was rescued alive by fishemen along the shorelines in Bauang, La Union last Wednesday, a police official said. Chief Inspector Artemio Infante, Bauang town’s chief of police, identified the rescued fisherman as Edgar Rivera, 43, a resideint in Barangay Aluling, Agno, Pangasinan. (Freddie Lazaro)
