Asia's first culinarium opens in Pamanga

ANGELES CITY, Philippines — The first culinary museum in the Philippines or even in Asia, called a Culinarium, can be found in Pampanga.

It is at the Museo ng Angeles in Angeles city, Pampanga.

Pampanga is widely known for its cooking. Food preparation is a legacy that the city wants to preserve through this culinarium.

As one ascends the second floor of the museum going to the culinarium, photos of Pampanga’s famous dishes such as betute, camaru, sisig, pindang damulag and many others are prominently displayed on the wall.

Very soon, a photo exhibit of Kapampangan food festivals and cooks or chefs will also be held. (Franco Regala)

Pangasinan pleads for O.F.Ws
PANGASINAN – About 150 Filipino Community mostly from Pangasinan are now asking help to be transferred at the most safe place following reports that Leader Moammar Ghadafi detailed more soldiers in the area where the Filipinos are hiding in Benghazi.

A local radio station here in Dagupan who had interview Engineer Subungin, a contract worker of Libya and native of Roxas, Isabela said, that they need to be evacuated to a safe area.

"It was reported that Subungin is asking for a vehicle so that they could transfer to another place wherein they could easily reach the Philippine Embassy. (Liezle Basa Inigo )

Tagaytay family activities
The Tagaytay government will end its month-long Valentine celebration with various family fun activities this weekened in the city.

City Information and Tourism Officer Leilani D. Diesta is inviting everyone to participate or witness the activities at Tagaytay Track and Field Oval and scenic Picnic Grove.

The two-day event were organized by the city administration under Mayor Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino and Tagaytay Tourism Council (TTC) to make the Valentine celebration of families and local and foreign visitors more exciting and memorable.

Diesta said the city government and the TTC will launch the Tagaytay Family Fun Run. 2011, dubbed TF2R11, today. (Anthony Giron)

Rizal P.N.P. spruces up
RIZAL PROVINCE — All police stations in this province are now required to do some make-over and maintain cleanliness in their respective premises as part of the effort of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to improve the quality of service they are giving to the people.

In a directive to all chiefs of police in the 14 police stations here, Rizal Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, Senior Supt. Manuel Cesar Prieto ordered the officials concerned to ensure that all PNP offices and facilities must be clean and orderly at all times.

Zambales gears up for summer
CANDELARIA, Zambales — The Provincial Government of Zambales is gearing up for this coming summer as troves of activities are lined up that would boost the tourism scene here.

According to Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr., the activities that are lined up will mostly take place in the pristine waters of Zambales and would certainly give other summer vacation places a run for their money since the northern part of Zambales is still untapped.
