MANILA, Philippines (PNA) — A 24-hour free-call phone service is now available to families of Filipinos caught in the maelstrom in Libya at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) main building on Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.

Starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, families of OFWs can go to the south wing lobby of DFA-Pasay to avail of the public service.

DFA and SMART Communications tied up for the “Libreng Tawag,” now that the government’s repatriation scheme for Libya-based families went full-scale and made a priority by newly-installed Acting Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario.

The DFA/SMART service is apart from the 24-hour hotline numbers (834-4580, 834-3245, 834-3240, and 834-4646) that could be called by those desiring information about their relatives in Libya.
