Binay made the statement during a forum spearheaded by KonsultaMD entitled "Strategies for Integrating Holistic Wellness into Public Programs."
At the panel discussion, Mayor Abby emphasized the city's family-centered approach in promoting health and wellness, adding that families are central in addressing health issues early and fostering healthy habits at home for well-being.

She also underscored the need for preventive medicines and monitoring her constituents to meet their healthcare needs.
Being a staunch promoter of advanced and top-quality healthcare services, the Binay administration continues to adapt and expand its healthcare and wellbeing programs for Makatizens, especially through its revolutionary Yellow Card system.
The Yellow Card, officially known as the Makati Health Plus Program, is a pioneering healthcare initiative that provides comprehensive medical benefits to registered residents.
These benefits include free chemotherapy, unlimited dialysis, maintenance medicines, routine check-ups, and laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
Under this program, Yellow Card holders enjoy significant healthcare subsidies, giving them access to treatments without the burden of high out-of-pocket expenses.
The city government covers costs not reimbursed by PhilHealth, ensuring continued healthcare for Yellow Card holders and their dependents not over 21 years old.
"By providing free chemotherapy and other essential medical services, Makati has set the bar high for healthcare services in the country. Makati City reinforces its role as a leader in innovative and inclusive healthcare solutions by ensuring that all citizens, regardless of income, have access to life-saving treatments," the city government said.
“The Yellow Card ensures that financial barriers do not prevent Makatizens from accessing essential, life-saving healthcare. My administration has always focused on bridging the gap between social classes and guaranteeing that no one gets left behind - be it in education, social services, and healthcare delivery,” Binay said, adding that continuous and complete treatments are essential for achieving the best possible outcomes and ensuring that patients can lead healthier, more active lives despite their condition.
“Our approach guarantees that all patients receive the care they need in a timely and efficient manner, with full support from the city’s healthcare infrastructure,” she added.
Healthcare in workplaces
Being a long-lasting partner of the city government, KonsultaMD's event highlighted the critical role of accessible healthcare platforms in enhancing public sector initiatives as well as improving healthcare standards in workplaces.
In May last year, KonsultaMD, in partnership with the city government and Globe Group, launched its 24/7 free online consult program for city hall employees which allows them to receive medical help and services online and in the comfort of their home.
The partnership, which is the first KonsultaMD project for a local government unit (LGU) in Metro Manila, aims to provide convenient and accessible services to city hall employees to address physical and mental health concerns even after office and clinic hours.
The mayor explained that Yellow Card city hall employees only need to download the KonsultaMD mobile application, register, and schedule a consultation with a licensed doctor or mental health counselor.
Aside from online consultations, KonsultaMD also offers e-prescriptions, laboratory requests, online medical certificates, and mental health support.
These e-prescriptions can then be presented to Planet Drugstore so that employees can avail themselves of free medicines.
