Get set for the vivo Y100

On Friday, April 27^th, vivo will launch the Y100.

This is a smartphone that vivo says is targeted for people who lead dynamic lifestyles, which I suppose means young people who are always on-the-go to experience life and chill.

The Y100 has an 80W fast charging speed, bringing devices from zero up to 80% in 30 minutes. vivo boasts a Super Charge Pump feature that allows rapid charging with minimal heat generation—and this is important! The days are already hot as it is, and we don’t need a portable heater in our pockets.

The screen isn’t too shabby either. 1200 nits of brightness, 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED with a certification of SDS Eye Care Display and 120Hz refresh rate. There are dual stereo speakers with audio booster tech, in case you don’t want to use earphones.

vivo is also talking about photochromic technology applied to the back of the Y100, which lets it change colors under the sun. I know it sounds cool, but why? I mean, most of us will be putting cases, anyway, right?

Colors are Breeze Green and Crystal black.

The vivo Y100 is priced at P13,999. It has 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage, which they say is expandable up to 1TB—they didn’t mention about an SD card slot, but we are assuming that, yes, you need an SD card to attain that 1TB.

There’s a variant with 128GB storage for P12,499.

The vivo Y100 is available through the usual places: vivo concept stores, kiosks, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.
