GenSan readies 'Bakit' concert of Imelda Papin and 'Mommy' Dionisia

MANILA, Philippines – Undoubtedly, the people of General Santos City are excited with the CD-launch and concert of Philippine music icon Imelda Papin which will happen at Lagao gymnasium today, March 12. They are especially excited because Ms. Papin will be performing with GenSan’s Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao. They will be singing the phenomenal hit “Bakit (Kung Liligaya Ka Sa Piling Ng Iba),” carrier title of the album. This household song has been Mommy D’s all-time favorite. Recording it on CD with her idol, Imelda, has been a significant accomplishment in her life.

Oscar Parel, CEO of 618 International Entertainment, Inc., producer of this concert, is delighted to put on stage Ms. Imelda Papin and Mommy “D” for the people of GenSan with their all-out support for the company’s corporate philosophy is to bring music closer to the people and make them appreciate established and upcoming Filipino talents, whose artistry and musical flair have been recognized worldwide.

Ms. Papin is enthusiastic to perform with Mommy “D” and looks forward to the support of the city and its famous son, Saranggani Congressman Manny Pacquiao.

Adding spice to the show is Aileen Grace Papin, Imelda’s youngest sister, whose self-titled debut album is enjoying approval from fans. To provide laughter and merriment is Amay Bisaya.

The fund-raising concert will benefit the projects of the RD Foundation based in GenSan. Zaldy Int’l launches Mr. Pacific World

Here comes another male modeling competition which seeks the best of male models in terms of talent, physique and character.

The agency which launched recently the Mr. Pacific World 2011 search is ZaldyInternational (Zi) founded by Zaldy Espinosa, president.

Zi presented Saturday at the Center Stage its first batch of candidates to the first Mr. Pacific World 2011 pageant.
Asked why he called it Mr. Pacific World, Zaldy said that the title is unique.

Zaldy is not new in the modeling industry. After he finished his Bachelor in Elementary Education course majoring in Physical Education at the Misamis University in Misamis Oriental in 2002, he left for Manila and worked as modeling coordinator in modeling agencies.

Then he worked as casting director for models until he turned free lance.

Zaldy also became a talent manager and celebrity/artist booker.

Among the talents he used to book was Bianca Roque, currently a MYX VJ.

Later, Zaldy put up his own agency, Zaldy International. He is joined in the company by charming Ana Sideco as vice president. Ana is a graduate of the De La Salle Manila with a Bachelor of Computer Science majoring in Information Technology (IT). But modeling took the better of her and she has been a multi-media model, appearing as cover in several publications, on the ramp and as an international model. She has modeled in Bangkok, Myanmar and Shanghai. In 2008, she was featured as one of the 10 Most Beautiful in Mega Magazine’s special edition for that year. Considered one of the country’s top models today, Ana has a contract with a New York agency called Major Model Management.

With the combined know-how of Zaldy and Ana, Mr. Pacific World 2011 will definitely be a success.

Gerald Santos does Vismin mall tour

Fresh from a successful Luzon and Metro Manila mall tour for his latest album “Pinakahihintay, The Repackaged Album,” Prince of Ballad Gerald Santos kicks-off his Visayas-Mindanao tour today, March 12, at The Event Center, 5 p.m. in SM City Davao. Released under Prinstar Music Phils. and distributed by Polyeast Records, the all-original album contains 12 tracks with four songs composed by Gerald himself.

The hit song from the album “Ang ‘Yong Pagmamahal” has a follow-up single “Hindi Sapat Ang Minsan,” a power ballad that is a surefire hit soon. Gerald also recently bagged two major endorsements, Niknok and Human Plus Probiotics. He is a regular fixture at TV5’s youth-oriented Sunday show “Fantastik.”

After Davao, Gerald will go to SM City Iloilo on March 20, SM City Cebu on March 27, SM City Bacolod on April 2 and SM City Cagayan de Oro on April 9.
