Sam Verzosa files cyber libel case vs lawyer, says mudslinging politically motivated

Tutok To Win Representative and television host Sam Verzosa believes the ongoing mudslinging against him is politically motivated.

This after Sam slapped a cyber libel case against respondent Estrella Elamparo, lawyer, of Loyola Heights, Quezon City, before the Office of the City Prosecutor in Manila on Nov. 19.

Sam, 42, slapped a criminal case against Estrella after she claimed Sam and his girlfriend, actress Rhian Ramos, allegedly cheated when they recently ran for charity at the New York City marathon.

"Hindi maalis sa isip ko na may nag-motivate talaga para sa akin. Hindi malayong isipin na politically-motivate ito kasi lawyer siya. Sinong kliyente niya sa Maynila na papabor sa pagkasira sa akin?" Sam asked.

Sam added: "Kung kinukuwestiyon niya ang pagtakbo ko sa New York, bakit pati pagtakbo ko sa Maynila kinukuwestiyon din niya pati pagkatao ko?"

"Ayoko na sanang patulan ito pero dapat tumindig sa mga ganitong klaseng tao na nagpapakalap ng mga fake news online," he said.

Sam said, in a way, he was already vindicated after Estrella was arrested in Cebu City for a separate case.

"Parang ang bilis din ng vindication natin. Noong siniraan niya ako at naglabas ng column against us (Rhian) na sinabing nandaya raw kami sa marathon, after a few days, lumabas kaagad yung kanyang warrant arrest.

"Nakita ko yung nga mug shots niya sa social media. Hindi ko kaso yun ha. Ibang kaso pa yun ng ibang tao na nagkaso rin sa kanya n g cyber libel din," Sam also said.

Sam suggested that netizens who engage in mudslinging should receive some form of reprimand.

"Hanggang ngayon, pinaninindigan niya yun eh. Nagpose na ako ng video tungkol sa aking pagtakbo tungkol sa mga nawawalang markers na sinasabi niya na andun naman. Naglabas na rin ang statement ang organizers ng marathon pero matigas talaga siya. Binabaligtad pa niya at siya raw ang biktima.

"Pag ito sinakyan ng iba, nagiging totoo na. Dinamay pa niya si Rhian. Ayaw na rin niya pansinin eh. Sa dinami-dami pa ng tumakbo (sa New York), kami pa ang pinag-initan," Sam said.

It wasn't the way Sam wanted to visit the Manila City Hall but he said he needed to go there to file a case.

Sam has filed a certificate of candidacy for mayor of Manila.

"This will be the last time I'm going to talk about her. I will let my lawyers fix this. Sana magsilbing aral ito sa mga taong may plano pang manira," Sam added.
