GCash, Lazada PH set up seller loan program

Popular mobile finance app GCash’s lending arm Fuse Lending, Inc. is helping e-market Lazada Philippines set up a loan program for Filipino retailers using the platform.

Through the partnership, Fuse Lending will integrate its loan offer in Lazada’s Seller Center app in order to reach and assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Aside from helping entrepreneurs in Lazada’s platform, Fuse enables GCash to access potential customers beyond their current base.

A pilot program was conducted earlier this year, with plans to implement future programs to expand their respective user bases on the Lazada platform.

"As we continue to grow our presence in the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector, which is the backbone of the Philippine economy, we are glad to be Lazada Philippines’ entrusted partner in providing their extensive network of small business owners with cash loans that are easier, safer, and more convenient," said Fuse Lending President and CEO Anthony Isidro.

“This partnership represents an important step in our shared mission: contributing towards Sustainable Development Goal 17, expanding financial access to Filipino MSMEs, and accelerating progress in the Philippines,” added Benjamin Ng, Head of Seller Financing, Lazada.

Isidro and Ng were joined by Fuse Chief Strategy and Product Officer Baby Aquino and GLoan Product Head Kevin Yu at the launch ceremony in Taguig City.
