More scholars to get cash aid
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Philippine — Cavite Gov. Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr. has pledged to give P5,000 cash assistance to more scholars of the province’s state colleges and universities in the next school year.
Remulla made the promise during the day-long Mass Distribution of Provincial Educational Assistance program that was held recently at the Capitol Provincial Gymnasium in Trece Martires City where some 3,800 scholars were given the P5,000 assistance for their studies this school year. Bulacan forms clean task force
MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan — In accordance with Republic Act 9003 or the “Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000” and the implementation of “Bantay Kalinisan ng Bulacan,” Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado has formed Bantay Kalinisan Task Force to ensure a cleaner and greener province.
The task force is authorized to conduct quarterly visitation in the 21 towns and three cities in the province to assess their efforts in implementing the cleanliness and orderliness in their respective areas, thus, identifying winners for the two award categories, Pinakamalinis na Bayan o Lungsod and Pinakamalinis na Luntiang Kapaligiran. Seniors code enacted
BONTOC, Mountain Province – To enhance and sustain the welfare of the senior citizens in the province, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan enacted Provincial Ordinance No. 104 known as the Senior Citizens Code of Mountain Province.
The adoption of this senior citizens code aims to encourage families and communities to reaffirm the valued Filipino tradition of caring for the senior citizens and to give full support to the improvement of the total well-being of the elderly.
The measure establishes mechanisms whereby the contributions of the senior citizens are maximized and where they are assisted and appreciated by the community as a whole considering their vast experience in life after the numerous challenges that they have experienced during their younger years. Ninoy rotunda in Cavite secured
TAGAYTAY CITY — The local government has secured the historical Ninoy Aquino monument rotunda in this city after two trucks and a van accidentally romped on the Circle one after the other in a single day early this month.
Mayor Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino ordered the immediate renovation of the rotunda after the two trucks destroyed the foundation of the life-size Ninoy statue and a concrete barrier in the area during the simultaneous accidents last March 1.
Tolentino said the senator’s statue would not be visible for at least one month due to the ongoing renovation at the rotunda. (Anthony Giron)
E.K. launches water sports
STA. ROSA CITY, Laguna — The Enchanted Kingdom, the first and only world-class theme park in the country, will be launching the EK Biki Water World Sunday.
Charlotte Catapang, head of EK Corporate Communications, said members of media will participate in the “Aqualympics Media Launch” for water sports games which include Relay Race, Hamster Roll race, and volleyball tournament. Participants are required to be in appropriate swim wear with swim cap during the games.
Catapang said the event is the official kick-off of the EK’s Beat the Summer Heat program.
