MANILA, Philippines - TV5’s second teledrama offering, “Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak,” might prove itself controversial as it expounds on what is going on within and outside of the broadcast industry, particularly on TV!

It is expected that the teledrama, on primetime, may present some similarities on the lives of some big-time bosses of a TV network, particularly the love affairs as the bosses use it to control the talents or vice-versa.

Definitely, “Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak” will be provocative, an exceptional mixture of glamour, temptation and passion that introduces and gives the biggest break to two of TV5’s new primetime princesses, Arci Muñoz and Ritz Azul. The two beautiful young ladies play the roles of Dahlia and Daisy, two sisters who get enmeshed in the complicated and controversial world of show business in their pursuit of their dream to become successful dancers.

Sheryl Cruz plays their mother Rosal, a former dancer who is apprehensive of her daughters’ involvement in show business. She knows all too well the prevalent temptations and dangers of the industry.

The possible similarities of “Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak” with real-life controversies in Philippine showbiz is the intense drama between Apollo Ortega a.k.a. Mr. A (Richard Gomez), the production and creative head of a major TV network ETN, and who is also unfaithful to his wife Orchidia Ortega a.k.a. Ms. O (Ruffa Gutierrez).

Violet (Valerie Concepcion) plays a prima donna star and she is hell-bent to thwart any other performer from upstaging her.

Phillip Salvador makes a comeback as he plays Mr. D, the owner of ETVN, and his flamboyant yet pivotal character makes the story of “Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak” even more compelling.

Others in the cast are James Blanco, Carla Humphries, Jay Aquitana, Victor Basa, Allan Paule, Jean Saburit, Mel Martinez, Luningning, Milagring, and Mariposa. The teledrama begins airing today, March 21, after “Babaeng Hampaslupa” on TV5.

What’s the big secret at Goldilocks?

For the past few weeks, the talk of the town has been the so-called “big secret” that Goldilocks Bakeshop will unveil this coming March 30.

When my friends from the food industry first told me about it, I dismissed it as a promotional tactic for a new product they must be launching. That has since been categorically denied by Goldilocks representatives, while at the same time implying that the grand revelation is not even a food product at all. Because of this, a number of my friends figured that it must be a new endorser, but I disagreed, saying that the company can’t really outdo their current endorsers Kris Aquino and Dingdong Dantes.

Based on one of the clues I managed to extract from an inside source, it appears that I’m correct in saying that it’s not a new endorser.

So what were the two clues that were given to me? First, the big secret is currently locked inside a safety vault, secured within the Goldilocks head office in Shaw Blvd., Mandaluyong. They will transport this same vault to Greenbelt 5 when the time comes to finally open it for the world to see.

Second, the item inside the safe is so momentous that none other than the founders of Goldilocks themselves – Clarita Leelin-Go and Milagros Leelin-Yee – will lead the unveiling.
