This is another feat for Filipino students in math.
In July, Filipino students won four medals and two honorable mentions at the 65th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) held in Bath, United Kingdom.
In the IMO, Te won a silver medal while Sy, Paredes Dy, and Wu took home bronze medals. Bautista and Casib won honorable mention.
The APMO is a yearly regional mathematics contest for high school students. Contestants had to solve five original problems in four hours.
The organizer for the Philippines was the Mathematical Society of the Philippines (MSP).
The IMO Training Team invited the national finalists and some high performing contestants from the Area Stage of the 26th Philippine Mathematical Olympiad to take the APMO last March 12, at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman Institute of Mathematics, according to the Go for Gold: Philippine IMO Team Facebook page.
