A national field day on ‘Party Pilipinas’

MANILA, Philippines -- Fans of GMA-7’s Sunday noontime variety show “Party Pilipinas” had a field day last Sunday when the show marked its first anniversary the grandest day in four parts of the country – Cebu City, Davao City, Baguio City, and at Studio 7 of GMA Network Center in Quezon City. Thus the show was aptly dubbed “Party Buong Pilipinas.” And it was historic entertainment presented as the brightest and hottest Kapuso stars did highly applauded performances around the country.
 
At Cebu’s famous landmark, Fuente Osmeña Circle, the fans cheered the powerhouse cast of the primetime series “Captain Barbell” – Richard Gutierrez, Lovi Poe, Rhian Ramos, Solenn Heussaff, Sam Pinto, Isabel Oli, Bianca King, Michelle Madrigal, TJ Trinidad, Jillian Ward, Frencheska Farr and Christopher de Leon. Joining them were the “Alakdana” cast: Louise de los Reyes, Paulo Avelino, and Alden Richards. Also there were Jaya, Janno Gibbs, Jay-R, Kris Lawrence, Julie Ann San Jose, Elmo Magalona, Krista Kleiner, the Sexbomb Dancers and the Manoeuvres.
In Davao City’s Rizal Park, fans grooved to the “Sayaw Pilipinas” stars: Mark Herras, Ynna Asistio, Sarah Lahbati, Steven Silva, Enzo Pineda, Rocco Nacino, Sef Cadayona, Winwyn Marquez, Yassi Pressman, Diva Montelaba and Mayton Eugenio. Also there to perform for their Davaeño fans were Maxene Magalona, Luis Alandy, Kris Bernal, Mark Bautista, Rachelle Ann Go, Jolina Magdangal, the La Diva group and Party Jock Gino Quillamor.
 
In Baguio City’s Burnham Park, “Magic Palayok’s” sweethearts Carla Abellana and Geoff Eigenmann led the Kapuso stars that included Iza Calzado, Katrina Halili, Rochelle Pangilinan, Ryza Cenon, LJ Reyes, Jay Perillo and Geoff Taylor. With them were Bela Padilla, Rico Robles, the pop group XLR8, Team Mars and Adlib, plus the Tweens Bea Binene, Jake Vargas, Joyce Ching and Kristoffer Martin.
Meanwhile, at GMA Network Center’s Studio 7, the performers were led by the “I Heart You Pare” stars Regine Velasquez and Dingdong Dantes; “Bampirella” prime star Marian Rivera, “Dwarfina’s” Heart Evangelista and Dennis Trillo; “Captain Barbell’s” Akihiro Sato, Paolo Paraiso, Jon Hall and Ervic Vijandre and the Tween Royalties Barbie Forteza, Joshua Dionisio, Lexi Fernandez, and Kylie Padilla. Ogie Alcasid, together with Aljur Abrenica, Kyla, Jennylyn Mercado, Glaiza de Castro, Gian Magdangal, Pop Girls, Marc Abaya, Hannah of Session Road, Kat Agardo, Miguel Escueta, Julian Trono, Carl Acosta, Artstong, RPM, MXMVMNT and the Hotlegs brought the house down with explosive song and dance numbers with party jocks Raymond Gutierrez, KC Montero, Andi9 and Tim Yap. 
 
 
Music & Friends at GSIS Theater
 
A group of music enthusiasts called Music & Friends will hold a concert entitled “Bouquet of Songs” today at 6 p.m. at the GSIS Museum/Theater. This is part of the GSIS cultural series program every Thursday at the venue. Admission is free.
 
Organized in 2009 through the initiative of Ms. Nely Chua, Music & Friends is composed of professionals from different fields such as doctors, lawyers, bankers, realtors, educators, nurses, CEOs and business executives who share a common passion for music.
The program in their concert tonight will feature Broadway and classical music as well as our own well-loved kundimans. Ms. Julie Mendoza is music director and accompanist. Also to be presented is a ballet number to be performed by Terese Danielle Simpas.
 
 
‘Ganap na Babae’ screened at CCP
 
Hubo Productions’ “Ganap na Babae” will be screened today at 2 p.m. at the CCP. Directed by Rica Arevalo, Ellen Ramos and Sarah Roxas, “Ganap na Babae” is topbilled by Ms. Boots Anson-Roa; Canne’s “Most Beautiful Actress” Mercedes Cabral, Urian’s Best Supporting Actress Sue Prado and newcomer Jam Perez. It was the opening film during last year’s Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
 
This special screening is part of the CCP 2011 Women’s Month Celebration and is spearheaded by the CCP Gender & Development Focial Point Committee headed by Ms. Chinggay Bernardo, with members Marivic Santos, Nikki Garde-Torres, Gemma Marco and Josie Tabanedra.
