MANILA, Philippines -- In the final episode of “Your Song presents Kim,” Renz Fernandez made his first formal appearance as an actor and he already exhibited mature acting. Which is not surprising at all because his parents are both icons in the local movie industry: The late action star Rudy Fernandez and Ms. Lorna Tolentino.

Before the airing of the episode on ABS-CBN, Renz faced the press for the first time, and he expressed admiration for his parents, especially his mother. He often said, “Sabi ni Mama…” to begin a sentence in answering a question.

Describing his acting debut, Renz said, “I was nervous!” Of course, he was. Not only because of the pressure of being the son of prestigious parents, but because of his being paired with Kim Chiu.

“I had no acting experience yet,” Renz admitted. “I had no formal training in acting.”

Renz also revealed that when he was a child, he already dreamed of becoming a star. But he had to obey first the instruction of his late father that he must finish college first.

“I would like to excel in action as well as in drama roles,” he said, following in the footsteps of his father who was an action star, and his mother, an established dramatic actress.

Renz has a distinctly powerful voice, good for action and drama roles. He also has a good physique.

He also revealed that he broke from his girlfriend a year ago and that he is not dating anyone yet.
