Robin proud of ‘Tum’

MANILA, Philippines -- Action superstar Robin Padilla has expressed great pride for his latest movie project, “Tum: My Pledge of Love” which opens today in theaters nationwide. But of course, more than this, he is doubly proud of his wife and co-star in the movie, Mariel Rodriguez who he wed in India (the setting of the movie) last year.
During interviews, Robin has always professed love for Mariel, who he said has made him whole again, after two years of being single (his wife Liezl Sicangco divorced him a couple of years ago). Robin never thought he could find a young, beautiful and devoted woman like Mariel to be his second wife. If they got married so abruptly, it was because as Muslim, Robin does not believe in boyfriend-girlfriend relationships. If you love each other, marry each other, he said. This is why he does not want his daughters Queenie and Kylie to enter into romantic relationships.
Going back to “Tum: My Pledge of Love,” he said it is a movie that showcases traditional cultures of the Philippines and India.
Written and directed by Robin himself, the movie also stars Eddie Garcia, Queenie Padilla, Ejay Falcon and several Indian actors.
Robin has been working on his newest teleserye with Bea Alonzo.
Natasha endorser
Aside from his flourishing showbiz career, Robin has never had it so good in the endorsement department. We see his various TV commercials and just recently, Natasha, one of the leading direct selling companies in the country, welcomed Robin as its newest member. As a member, Robin encourages others to sign up as well as he believes this would help them fulfill their dreams.
Natasha offers a wide selection of shoes, apparel, accessories and personal care products.
Robin made sure he helped the poor and he is formalizing his efforts via Liwanag ng Kapayapaan Foundation (LKF), with his brother Rommel as president.
LKF is incidentally the main beneficiary of Robin’s partnership with Natasha. The actor is donating part of his earnings to the said foundation. He has also opened the doors to LKF’s beneficiaries to become Natasha members themselves. For this, Robin has been dubbed “Idol sa Pag-asenso!”
The actor said he was the one who approached Natasha. “It was the other way around. I was the one who expressed my desire to be a member para matulungan ang mga kababayan natin, lalo na ang mga beneficiaries ng LKF, na magkaroon ng sarili nilang kabuhayan.”
