MPT South, Cavite LGU to launch tourism passport

Metro Pacific Tollways (MPT) South has forged ties with the provincial government of Cavite to launch a tourism passport program that will entice visitors to explore the heritage and culture of the province.

The tourism passport, made in collaboration with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), will rollout to the public starting May 24 until Dec. 31 this year.

Under the program, tourists can collect stamps on their passports after visiting attractions around Cavite. Once all stamps are collected, passport holders may win tokens from MPT South and their partners.

"This passport symbolizes our collective commitment to promoting tourism in Cavite," said MPT South Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management Arlette Capistrano.

The Cavite tourist passport is part of the "Biyaheng South" campaign of MPT South that promotes the southern toll road network, including the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), CAVITEX C5 Link, and CALAX, as reliable gateways to the gems of the South.

"Through the Biyaheng South campaign, we are highlighting our toll roads and the rich cultural and natural attractions of the South. We hope this initiative inspires more people to explore and appreciate the beauty of Cavite," she added.

DILG IV-A Regional Direct Ariel Iglesia remarked that travelers "feel even more motivated to discover and engage with Cavite’s beautiful landscapes, and diverse selection of products and services" with MPT South's Biyaheng South initiative.

Interested participants of the program can redeem the passports at MPT South's partner establishments, Cavite tourism offices, and the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Customer Service Center.
