The Indian experts will team up with Pemdas Energy Corporation, based here, and the Pampanga Agricultural College (PAC) for the planting and mass production of sweet sorghum.
Led by Dr. Belum Reddy and Dr. Srinavasi Rao, the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) scientists met Pemdas executives, led by Patrick Pelayo at the Mayors’ Action Center, here.
They were accompanied by the PAC officials led by Dr. Honorio Soriano, PAC president and Dr. Norman De Jesus, PAC vice president and Dr. Virgilio Gonzales, director of Extension Training and other professors and personnel of PAC.
Reddy said their group is ready to provide their expertise and technical assistance to PAC and Pemdas in their commitment to produce sweet sorghum and address the demand for biofuels or renewable energy sources to help reduce the country’s dependence of imported oil.
