MANILA, Philippines – The mysterious break-up of Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo will likely explode into controversy as she is reportedly set to sue him. A source told Bulletin Entertainment that Mercado is thinking of doing so this week though it didn't specify what charges Mercado will use against him.

In her April 19 interview in Boracay, Mercado hinted about dropping a bomb against Trillo.

“Naibulong sa akin ni Jennlyn na hindi na raw niya paaabutin ng buwan ng Mayo at sasabihin na niya na ang tunay na dahilan ng break-up nila ni Dennis at sinabi rin niya na maaaring makaapekto ito or maaring may mga taong maapektuhan o ma-shock sa kanyang revelations,” entertainment correspondent Nelson Canlas reported on “24 Oras” that day.

Back then, Mercado said she’s not ready to entertain questions about the break-up.

“Siguro ano, I’ll have my time. Meron siyang time to talk about it. But for now gusto ko muna mag-enjoy,” she said, though assuring everyone that “sisiguraduhin ko na kapag sinabi ko ‘yon, sasabihin ko naman lahat. Darating din ‘yung time na ‘yon...”

Trillo, it seemed, is not at all bothered by Mercado’s pronouncements.

"Alam n'yo kung meron mang pasasabugin, dapat nu’ng umpisa pa lang kasi, ‘di ba, anong use?" Dennis said in an interview posted on PEP, April 14.

Keeping his stand to not dwell on his private life, Trillo added, “Ako kasi, never ako naging open sa mga nagiging problema kasi ‘yung mga 'yon, personal na ano 'yan... And ayoko maging open 'yan sa public dahil kung ano man 'yon, 'yung mga nangyari, sa amin na lang 'yun. Kasi personal na mga insidente sa buhay 'yon na hindi na dapat isinisiwalat.”

The couple's almost year-old relationship ended on a sour note on March 5. The separation was confirmed by both the ex-couple’s managers, Becky Aguila and Popoy Caritativo.

“Yes, it’s true. Jen and Dennis broke [up] last March 5. It is unfortunate but it can happen to anyone,” came Aguila’s confirmation on March 25, adding that, “Jen is heartbroken but she knows she has to move on, not only for herself but also for Jazz’s (her son) sake. She could use all the support and understanding she needs.”

Caritativo affirmed Aguila’s statement by saying, “Sa mga mag-boyfriend at mag-girlfriend, maaari namang mangyari talaga na maghiwalay, 'di ba? Hindi magsasalita 'yun si Dennis [about the details of the split]. Kahit noon naman, 'di ba? Napaka-ungentleman naman kasi sa guy na magkwento.”

Online reports say Trillo’s jealous streak took its toll on his relationship with Mercado.
