The president of Mrs. Philippines Organization has invited Angelica Yulo - the controversial mother of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo - to join their pageant scheduled for March of next year with a P150,000 grand prize.

Erika Joy Santos, the reigning Mrs. Philippines, said she sees the potential in Angelica to be a beauty queen owing to the latter's fashion sense and her accomplishment in raising her four kids, who are all athletic.

"I wish to speak to Angelica. Maybe I can, you know, be somehow a relief to her. Kahit coffee lang. She's very much welcome to join Mrs. Philippines 2025. Why not?" Erika, the CEO of her own company, commented.

The beauty queen revealed that she's sympathetic towards Angelica since they're both mothers. "I think na naging gymnast yung mga anak niya because naghirap din siya for it. She surely sacrificed a lot of things para ma-suportahan lahat ng anak niya. And I believe in the goodness and kindness of motherhood."

"So my advice to Miss Angelica Yulo is to love yourself. Stop crying. Always smile. And remember that time heals all wounds!," Erika stated.

She clarified that anyone - as long as she is a mother - is encouraged to enlist for the pageant because the organization wants to give all women the opportunity, not just celebrity moms like Angelica.

"We wouldn't want other candidates to feel intimidated by the celebrities. We're prioritizing those who really want to join, like the ordinary mothers and wives out there. We want them to join, and we don't want them to feel discouraged," she pointed out.

"There is no restriction for Mrs. Philippines, age limit, or size requirement. We don't do money-shaming. So everyone, as long as you're a mother, a single mom, a married woman, or you're widowed or separated, you are welcome to join Mrs. Philippines 2025. The only exception I would name are single women with no children because we can categorize them in the Miss Pageant series," she elaborated.

In a media conference over the weekend, Mrs. Philippines announced its rebranding: from its logo depicting a woman carrying a child--it now bears an empowered woman with the nation's flag.

"It's really about acceptance and inclusivity. Being married is not limited to having a child or being married alone. It also includes those who are widowed or who are single moms who [still] remain mothers to their children no matter what the journey is. The pageant serves as a platform to extend these women's advocacies," the organization said in its press statement.

The 2025 Mrs. Philippines winner will not compete in an international pageant but instead spearhead outreach projects in the community, it was announced.

Aside from Erika, the organization comprises creative and production director Jey Ar Cayetano, marketing and logistics director Cathy Bautista, finance director Queennie Santos, administrative director Joyce Villa, and partnerships director Princess Santos.
