Pinoy students offered opportunity to study in Canada in Manila study expo

Thousands of Filipino students, who also seek employment after graduation, are expected to attend the Canadian government’s largest study expo that will be held in Manila on June 15.
Dubbed as “One More Chance in Canada”, the expo is aimed at providing opportunities to study, work and even live permanently in Canada, according to ApplyBoard Associate Vice President for Asia Sales Saif Iqbal.
“We have our Study in Canada fair happening on June 15th for interested students to attend. Along with our team of ApplyBoard who are all experienced. We have partners who are experienced in recruitment who will be there to help students through this process said Iqbal.
Citing data from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, ApplyBoard said around one million international students were granted student visas last year, accounting for a 29.4 percent increase in the approved study permits in 2022.
Different educational institutions such as Algoma University, Sheridan College, International Business University, Thompson Rivers University, Oxford International Career Colleges are expected to be in attendance to personally assist candidates in finding the right programs for them.
This year’s Study in Canada Fair at Lansons Place Mall of Asia on June 15, the event is open and free for all.
“Students can come to look at requirements, tuition fee and make a conscious decision. the Study in Canada fair is a great opportunity to come in to get their queries answered. We have school partners as well. We have the right stakeholders for students and parents to come in to make an informed decision,” Iqbal said.

Canada has been one of the top study destinations for Filipino international students in recent years. Study abroad application platform ApplyBoard says the Philippines is one of Canada’s largest source of international students citing more than 20,000 students before the end of 2023.
More students than ever are choosing health studies, as health care job vacancies swell worldwide. Other popular programs are focused on business, information technology, engineering and trades.
In 2023, the Philippines ranked third among the countries with the largest international student population in Canada.
