Manila solons say PDEA leak investigation 'dead in the water'

Manila Representatives Ernix Dionisio and Irwin Tieng said the investigation on the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) leaks should have been discontinued a long time ago as it did not yield good results to help with the legislation.
During the Manila City Hall Reporters' Association (MACHRA) Balitaan forum, the solons said the probe on the PDEA leaks is already “dead in the water” or should have been stopped early on in the Senate.
Dionisio, who is also the assistant majority leader of the House of Representatives (HOR), said the issue has been exhausted and that there is no longer a need for Congress to conduct its own probe.
“I don't think it should continue... it's enough if the issue can no longer be expounded. Nakita na natin ang mga kakulangan (We have already seen the shortcomings)," he said.
For his part, Tieng said a separate probe by the Senate would just be redundant and unnecessary as there are more pressing issues that the Senate needs to tackle.
