Calumpit 1024 Team the best rescuers in C. Luzon
CALUMPIT, Bulacan, Philippines – Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado congratulated Saturday Mayor James de Jesus here as he commended the group known as the Calumpit 1024 Rescue Team for emerging as the best rescue team in Central Luzon.
The Calumpit 1024 Team, headed by team leader George Agustin, was adjudge the overall champion in the 8th Regional First Aid and Basic Life Support Olympics held at Remy Field, Subic Freeport Zone, Olongapo City recently.
Organized by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), the competition’s aim is to further boost the readiness and competence of disaster and emergency response units in Central Luzon.
Alvarado was pleased that the team from Calumpit, which responds to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, was adjudged as best in “Situation Analysis Focus on Control Bleeding, Bandaging and Immobilization.”
The governor commended Provincial Administrator Jim Valerio and Felicisima Mungcal, executive officer of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC), for continuously training the disaster and emergency response and rescue units in Bulacan.
