Two Chinese nationals, a man and a woman, have been arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) before they could board their separate flights last June 1.
Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco identified them as Tianyi Zhang, 28, and Jun Zhang, 36.
"They are now detained at our facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City where they will remain until they are deported,” Tansingco said.
The BI said Tianyi was intercepted last June 1 before she could board her flight to Xiamen, China.
“Records show that Tianyi Zhang was issued a deportation order by the BI for being an undocumented and undesirable alien for allegedly working for an establishment involved in prostitution and labor exploitation,” it said.
"Tianyi Zhang and two other Chinese suspects also face a case before the Makati City regional trial court for the said crime,” it also said.
In the case of Jun Zhang, the BI said he was arrested last June 1 before he could board a flight to Bangkok, Thailand.
“We received advanced information from the Chinese government that Jun Zhang is a fugitive in China wanted for extortion and that he would be using a Myanmar passport to evade detection,” the BI said.
