Two games close D-L eliminations
MANILA, Philippines — North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) tries to close out its elimination campaign on a high note tomorrow when it battles dangerous Freego Jeans in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Meralco gym in Pasig City.
Already assured of an outright quarterfinals berth, the Road Warriors clash with the Jeans Masters at 2 p.m. with the former determined to improve their 4-1 record in Group A.
Despite their superior record, NLEX remains wary of Freego Jeans of coach Leo Austria and team manager Joel Yap since the Jeans Masters have won their last two games.
The Jeans Masters, who have a 2-3 record, will again be bannered by Adamson stars, led by Eric Camson, Alex Nuyles and Lester Alvarez.
Meantime, Max! Bond Super Glue collides with FCA at 4 p.m. with the Sumos of coach Pido Jarencio determined to get back into the winning track following their lopsided loss to Cebuana Lhuillier the last time.
Like the Sumos, the Cultivator are also raring to bounce back following a heart-breaking 71-70 loss to Cobra Energy Drink.
ASEAN Basketball League veteran Rudy Lingganay, former FEU big man Reil Cervantes and 2010 UAAP Rookie of the Year Jeric Teng are expected to lead Max! Bond's bid to beat FCA.
The Cultivators will lean on Mark Canlas, Gilbert Bulawan and Fil-Am's Allen Husted and Alex Mallari.
