MANILA, Philippines -- While she may be ready to tackle heavy dramatic roles, Judy Ann Santos appears to be still focusing her full attention to a more significant role, that of being a mother to her son, Lucho, and daughter Yohan, a girl she adopted earlier before she gave birth to her son barely a year old.

“It seems that I cannot ‘wean’ myself yet from him, not even for a few seconds!”

That’s a real mother speaking! Nothing gives much more joy or happiness to a mother than her baby child.

Since her movie (no title yet) is scheduled for filming yet next year, Judy Ann has all the time to attend fully to her baby son and her young adopted daughter. She is however preparing for a cooking TV show entitled “Junior Chef” and has been doing a lot of “commercial shoots.”

As a cooking Mom, she made an experiment by cooking two separate “chicken adobo.” In the first adobo, she sprinkled it with Del Monte pineapple tidbits or chunks, while she did not mix any pineapple ingredients to the second chicken adobo.

When the two chicken adobos were served, Yohan and the other kids preferred the chicken adobo with Del Monte pineapple tidbits or chunks.

Judy Ann is indeed a “woman of substance,” or in our Tagalog parlance, “Panatag na Ina.”

AI fan goes to Hollywood

Pinoy “American Idol” fan Eric John “EJ” Marinay won a free trip for two to Hollywood to watch the Season 10 finale of “American Idol LIVE” during the Greenwich-Star World Ultimate Idol Face-off held at Trinoma Activity Center.

EJ, a 24-year-old accountant, said he is an avid fan of Star World shows, as well as Greenwich Pizzas, co-presenter of “American Idol.” He was among the 12 finalists drawn by Greenwich for the “Ultimate Idol Face-off.”

During the event, the finalists answered easy to difficult trivias about American Idol while the audience was treated to fun games like asking for their ‘Extremely Cheesy’ pick-up lines as Greenwich launched its new Xtreme Cheese Pizzas.

In the end, it was EJ who answered the most number of questions among the finalists. He received the prize from Fox International Channels territory director Jude Turcuato and Greenwich marketing director Luis Velasco III, alongside Greenwich brand endorser Anne Curtis-Smith.

The event was hosted by DJ Mojo Jojo and DJ Suzy of Magic 89.9. Also present during the event were American Idol season 6 and top 10 finalist AJ Tabaldo, Kris Lawrence, and Nikki Gil, who gave their own take on American Idol hits. Anne Curtis made a surprise appearance to the delight of the audience. She sang her own rendition of Alone.

Star World and Greenwich invite everyone to catch American Idol every Thursdays and Fridays, at 6 p.m., with encores at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. The grand finale will be on May 26 only on Star World.
