MANILA, Philippines – Sunshine Corazon, the character portrayed by Filipina sensation Charice on US hit musical series “Glee,” was among the hottest topics worldwide on Twitter on May 25. It peaked at fifth place right after the airing of the second season's final episode, and it was the only “Glee”-related topic on the list.

Sunshine Corazon ranked higher locally at around the same time, peaking at second place Wednesday night. The hashtag “#gleefinale” came at third, while  Sunshine's singing group, Vocal Adrenaline ranked sixth. Nationals, which was the center of the show’s “New York” episode, followed at number seven, while “Finchel”---or the moniker for the Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith)-Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) pair---made it to the 10th spot.

In her third appearance on the show since the “A Night Of Neglect” episode last April, Charice’s Sunshine led her Vocal Adrenaline choir mates in the power ballad, “As Long As You’re There,” their entry at the Show Choir Nationals competition held in New York City. It’s the first original song that Charice performed on the show, having sung covers in her previous appearances, such as “Telephone” (with Lea) and “Listen” in Season Two pilot, and “All By Myself” in “Neglect.”

All’s well that ends well between Sunshine and Rachel (at least in the finale episode) as they have resolved their rivalry through a touching, quite dramatic reconciliation in---where else---the bathroom (which happened to be the setting of Sunshine and Rachel’s first meeting in the season’s pilot episode).

Filipino-Irish singer-actor Darren Criss also appeared briefly in the finale, with his character, Blaine Anderson, wearing his heart on his sleeve in a coffee date scene with Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer).

Apart from “As Long As You’re There,” the May 25 episode of "Glee" featured other original songs such as the hilarious “My Cup” by Brittany Pierce (Heather Morris) and Artie Abrams (Kevin McHale), the emotionally-charged “Pretending” by Finn and Rachel, and the danceable “Light Up The World” by the New Directions.

There’s no word yet if Charice will be back on the third season of the show, but she seemingly intimated what lies in store for Sunshine Corazon in her interview with Teen.com posted on May 24.

“Well, by now I think I could say… just watch the episode! You know, I can’t really say. Some great scenes. It’s gonna be really exciting,” Charice said.
