Sucat Senior High School in Muntinlupa officially recognized by DepEd

The Department of Education (DepEd) has officially recognized the Sucat Senior High School in Barangay Sucat, Muntinlupa as a stand-alone senior high school. 

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon, Rep. Jaime Fresnedi, Dr. Violeta Gonzales of the Office of the Schools Division Superintendent, and principal Jayboy Evano led the inauguration of the Sucat Senior High School on Oct. 9.

Biazon said the DepEd’s recognition of the Sucat Senior High School is a milestone. 

“Sucat Senior High School (SSHS) is now officially recognized by DepEd and has its own school ID! Today,” he said. 

Fresnedi said the Sucat Senior High School is now the 29th public school in Muntinlupa. He said before, there was only one senior high school in Muntinlupa’s District 2–the Cupang Senior High School. 

“Ngayon, hindi na kailangang bumiyahe nang malayo ng mga mag-aaral mula Sucat upang kumuha ng ABM, HUMSS, o STEM strands dahil mayroon na silang sariling paaralan (Now, students no longer have to commute far from Sucat to take ABM, HUMMS or STEM strands because they now have their own school),” said Fresnedi. 

ABM, STEM and HUMMS are Accountancy, Business and Management; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics; and Humanities and Social Sciences. 

Biazon said in “SSHS, we aspire to create a facility that fosters an environment fit for learning and growth.”

“Patuloy ang suporta ng City Government sa educational system as part of our 7K Agenda. (The City Government continues to support the education system as part of our 7K Agenda). Through quality education, they can achieve this bright future. Rest assured, as long as we’re here, education remains a top priority of the city government,” the mayor said. 

In a Facebook post, Evano said the Sucat Senior High School was recognized by DepEd through “Regional Order No. SHS-0006 s. 2024, granting it a permit to operate as a stand-alone senior high school.”
