‘Sinner or Saint’ stars Bianca King, Dennis Trillo and Alessandra de Rossi;

MANILA, Philippines -- The latest addition to GMA 7’s line up of afternoon programs, “Sinner or Saint,” starts airing today, June 13 after “Blusang Itim” on GMA Dramarama sa Hapon.” A riveting story of love, deceit and betrayal, it features the promising and fresh tandem of award-winning actor Dennis Trillo and the newest Kapuso leading lady Bianca King.

“Sinner of Saint” tells the story of a couple, Raul (played by Dennis) and Noemi (Bianca) whose simple and humble dreams are shattered by a tragic incident when timid and compassionate Noemi is imprisoned for a crime she did not commit. Meanwhile, Raul is determined to finish law school despite poverty.

Out of her love for Raul, Noemi took the blame for the death of her uncle who was accidentally killed by Raul, on the condition that he finishes his law degree and will do everything to win her case.

Aside from being Dennis and Bianca’s first team-up, “Sinner or Saint” also marks the return of Alessandra de Rossi to the Kapuso stable as she portrays the scheming Corrine who falls for Raul and uses her wealth to manipulate him.

Corrine finally succeeded in seducing Raul and demands that he marries him. Torn between his love for Noemi and his ambition to become a lawyer, Raul chooses Corrine.

Also in the cast of “Sinner or Saint” is Timmy Cruz who plays Sally, Noemi’s mother. Timmy, who has appeared in some soaps in the Kapamilya Network (“Super Inggo” and “Lobo”) was also seen on Viva Entertainment’s “Villa Quintana.”

Timmy, who is now into environmental advocacy, surprised us with her glowing and happy persona. Still singing and writing songs, her latest album was released by Star Records. “They are feel-good songs whose lyrics I wrote,” Timmy said.

Timmy feels so blessed because every time she celebrates her birth anniversary (Jan. 26), projects just pour in. By the way, she also writes a column for Abante.

Completing the cast of “Sinner or Saint” are Polo Ravales, Matthew Mendoza, Jenine Desiderio, Divina Valencia, Dexter Doria, Glenda Garcia, Kim Komatsu who is introduced in the show playing Raul’s younger sister; and Derrick Monasterio.

“Sinner or Saint” is directed by Don Michael Perez and conceptualized by RJ Nuevas. It airs worldwide beginning June 17 on GMA Pinoy TV, the flagship international channel of GMA Network.

Hard Rock Café  celebrates  ‘Founder’s Day’

Hard Rock Café (HRC) celebrates its 40th Founder’s Day on June 14 (Tuesday) with a special whole-day event starting at 11:30 a.m. as it gives tribute to forty selected civil servants from Makati City via a special luncheon which includes games, a special acoustic performance by Mon Espia.

In the afternoon, HRC will host a special kiddie party with 40 kids under Special Education (SPED).

HRC wraps the celebration in the evening as it features sultry girl group Mocha Girls in a back-to-back intimate performance with pop-R&B band Drizzle with DNA, and show-band Silk. Performing are Mocha Girls, Drizzle with DNA, and Silk.

The original Hard Rock Café started in London 40 years ago.

Part of the proceeds of the show will benefit two-year-old Mark Raven Poso who is suffering from hydrocephalus and is under the care of the Hydrocephalus Foundation of the Philippines, Inc.
