MANILA, Philippines -- Star Cinema is proud to present on its 18th year of producing well-loved romantic movies, another potential blockbuster, “Forever and a Day,” featuring the fresh tandem of Sam Milby and KC Concepcion.

Described as a “film that celebrates the beauty of love and life,” “Forever and a Day” is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, who has given us several unforgettable romantic films in the recent past.

“Forever and a Day,” which opens today in over 100 theaters nationwide, is the story of a man (played by Sam Milby as Eugene Servero) who pushes himself to the limits, a man who is always up for the challenge. He is proud. He only lives for himself. He meets a woman (KC Concepcion as Raffy Salvador) one day, a woman who is more cautious in life, a woman who teaches him to embrace and appreciate life, love, and all its smallest blessings.

Direk Cathy said, “Hindi ba sa tunay na buhay parang ang dami mong gusto? Gusto mo lahat nagagawa mo according to how you want it and the way you want it. Pero minsan kailangan mo tanggapin na hindi lang ikaw, merong mga bagay na nagco-contribute. Maraming mga bagay na dapat kinu-consider hindi lang ang sarili mo. It’s about humility.”

About the Sam/KC tandem, the director said, “They are a new and fresh big-screen team-up. Very good friends in real life, we all know for a fact that Sam and KC are not an item. Star Cinema never banks on the relationship. Alam mo ‘yung hindi naman tayo ‘yung tipo na nagki-create na kunwari nagkakagustuhan ang mga artista para lang kumita ang pelikula. Tingnan mo ang kuwento, hindi sila.”

They shot the movie in various scenic places in the Philippines like Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro.

“Nung nag-ocular ako I was surprised,” said Direk Cathy. “It was my first time in Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro. I was surprised to know na may ganon pala tayo sa Pilipinas. To think that we have the longest zipline in Asia in Bukidnon makes me proud na nakapag-shoot ako doon.”

Sam and KC did the zipline (28 takes), and white-water rafting there.

Elmo, Sam in Miley’s concert

Two of the country’s youngest heartthrobs from rival networks, Elmo Magalona and Sam Concepcion, will front act for the much-anticipated Miley Cyrus’ “Gypsy Heart Concert” to be held on June 17 at the SM Mall of Asia open concert grounds.

The heir apparent to Francis M.’s throne, the 17-year-old rapper-actor Elmo is deemed as one of today’s young favorites of Filipinos as his performances have always been requested by fans in his home network’s weekend musical variety show “Party Pilipinas.” Elmo is also an excellent actor in the making as he has bagged the PMPC Star Awards for TV’s Best New Male Personality award last year.

Elmo said his sisters are not the only fans of Miley Cyrus. He pointed out something he has in common with Miley – they both have musician parents!

Sam (Samuel Lawrence Lopez Concepcion) on the other hand, has been the apple of the eyes of Pinays since he emerged as the winner of “Little Big Star” singing contest in 2006. He was also chosen by DreamWorks to sing the theme song of the first “Kung Fu Panda” in 2008. He will soon star in the musical “Peter Pan.”

For Sam, getting closer to Miley is a dream-come-true. “Miley Cyrus is a very great performer with a huge fan base,” he says.
