PMA welcomes 195 new cadets
FORT DEL PILAR, Baguio City, Philippines – The administration of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) here formally incorporated 195 fourth-class cadets as members of the Academy’s Class of 2015. Out of the said number of cadets, 166 are males and 18 are females.
They all underwent a two-month “beast barracks” camp here prior to their incorporation as the newest batch of upcoming young military leaders. Brig. Gen. Nonato Alfredo Peralta, PMA Superintendent, said the cadets will enjoy a full scholarship from the government and have the chance to be commissioned as 2nd Lieutenants and Ensigns of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) after completing their four-year military education. Bulacan turns trash into cash
MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan – Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado said Saturday that through the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO), the government will launch the eco-friendly Bazaar at SM City Marilao in a bid to promote turning waste into cash.

Bataan PD has final say
CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan – The highest-ranking police official in this province said Saturday that as Provincial Director (PD), he has the final say in designating or relieving a chief of police (COP) in any municipality under his
jurisdiction.
Supt. Arnold D. Gunnacao, Bataan Police Provincial Office director, said that since he follows a “no compromise” policy with illegal activities, he will keep or boot out a COP based on their dedication to their duty. (Mar T. Supnad)
Review RA 9211, says author
VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur – Former House Deputy Speaker for Northern Luzon Eric D. Singson Sr., principal author of the Republic Act 9211 (Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003), asked national and local officials over the weekend to review carefully the provisions of the country’s tobacco regulation law on imposition of banning cigarette smoking ordinances in public places.
Singson made the suggestion as the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) started to ban smoking in public places within the perimeter of Metro Manila’s major and secondary roads. (Freddie G. Lazaro)
Gov offers free doctoral studies
BALANGA CITY, Bataan – After offering free masteral degree studies to public school teachers, the provincial government of Bataan is now also granting free doctoral degree courses to deserving mentors in government schools in the province.
Ms. Gila Garcia, provincial coordinator, announced during the recent meeting among school principals held at Bulwagan II, that Governor Enrique “Tet” Garcia had already approved the granting of free scholarship to public school teachers with a Masters degree who want to pursue their doctoral degree.
