MANILA, Philippines — A 56-year-old woman was charged with theft after allegedly shoplifting ladies wear and fashion accessories from a mall in Mandaluyong City Sunday evening.

Police said the suspect, Jeanette Paulino, stole more than P5,000 worth of ladies wear and fashion accessories by placing the items inside her black shoulder bag. The crime was witnessed by 27-year-old Rey Enlope, security guard assigned at the department store of SM Megamall.

Enlope told police he saw the suspect hide the items in her bag before trying to walk out of the department store without paying for them.
