Woman with illegal possession of firearm case nabbed while applying for police clearance in Pasig

A 44-year-old woman was arrested while applying for national police clearance after authorities discovered that she has a pending case of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition in Pasig City on Wednesday, June 26.

The Pasig City Police identified the woman as alias Tricia, a resident of Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

Authorities arrested her by virtue of a warrant of arrest at around 12:22 p.m. on Wednesday while her police clearance was being processed.

During verification, it was revealed that she has a pending case and a standing alias warrant of arrest issued by Judge Eugenio G. Dela Cruz of Regional Trial Court Branch 117, Pasay City on March 25, 2019.

The warrant of arrest that was served to her was for violation of PD 1866, or illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, with a recommended bail of P120,000.

The suspect is now detained at the custodial facility of the Pasig City Police while waiting for the commitment order from the court.
