Philhealth Sabado in Roxas City
ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Philippines (PIA) — All’s set for the 2nd Nationwide PhilHealth Registration Day (NPRD) tommorow Saturday, June 25. The massive registration and advocacy activity aims to bring into the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP) new registrants, ensuring their access to quality health care services.
Registration site is the Pres. Manuel Roxas Memorial School (PMRMS)-South. Services at the registration sites include acceptance of PhilHealth Member Registration Forms (PMRF) and premium contributions. New registrants should bring supporting documents for family members to be declared as dependents and premium payment – R300 – which is equivalent to at least a quarter's premium.
Culture cities
CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) — Cebu City, the oldest city in the country, has been recognized as one of three “Cities of Culture” by the ASEAN Ministries of Culture, along with Manila and Vigan. This recognition brings to fore Cebu city’s rich cultural heritage.
A famous tourist attraction in the city, Fort San Pedro, is where the Spanish built their first settlement in the country, Villa del Santisimo Nombre de Jesus. Fort San Pedro was built in 1565. Calle Colon in downtown Cebu City, named after explorer Christopher Columbus, is also considered the oldest street in the country.
Exercise, CSC tells civil servants
KALIBO, Aklan (PIA) — The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is urging civil servants to exercise in order to develop "sound mind in a healthy body."
Evelyn Ejar, Director II of the CSC Field Office here said the call for public workers to exercise regularly is in CSC Circular No. 8 stressing the importance of exercise to develop a healthy and alert workforce.
The circular says government agencies should devote an hour every week for exercise and 20 minutes daily for breathing and stretching exercises.
Negros Occ. civic action services
CANDONI, Negros Occ. (PIA) — The Philippine Army’s 47th Infantry Battalion civic action team led by Lt. Col. Rodrigo Sosmeña joined the medical, surgical and dental mission and feeding and outreach program in Brgy. Banga, Candoni, this province.
Said activity benefited 185 people with medical consultation, 54 persons with dental services, 28 circumcised; 64 persons with haircuts and 11 with shiatsu massage. Also, 150 people got pouches with assorted goods; 185 indigent children benefited from food feeding, and 243 pocket bibles were distributed to patients after given spiritual counseling.
Trade-Science-Techno fair opens
TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte (PIA) — The trade fair always adding color to the annual Tacloban fiesta in honor of the Sto. Niño on June 30, showcasing various food, gift, toys and houseware products made of raw materials from Leyte province formally opened last June 21 at the Remedios Trinidad Romualdez (RTR) Plaza.
The fair is a joint project of Leyte province through the Pintados Kasadyaan Foundation, Incorporated in coordination with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DoST) and Leyte Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
