MANILA, Philippines -- Reigning World Champion Yvan Muller took his second victory of the season aboard a Chevrolet Cruze in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) at Brno last Sunday.

After posting the best times in all the practice sessions before the race, Muller lost to his teammate Rob Huff during the first race but was doubly happy when he took the chequered flag during the second race with over a four-second lead over his rivals.

Muller’s win is his second for this year’s WTCC season following his victory at the Hungaroring.

“I’m very pleased with the weekend,” Muller said after the race.  “I would have been very disappointed to go home without victory here after our performance this weekend.”

Starting from eighth on the grid, Muller made a superb start and immediately gobbled the competition so by the end of lap two, he was already running in third.

Ahead of him were Roal Motorsport BMW’s Tom Coronel and Michel Nykjaer, who were both battling for first place.  Muller was successful in battling with the two drivers and was able to take first place.

Muller crossed the finish line in first place, followed by Tom Coronel in second, with Chevrolet teammate Alain Menu taking the final podium spot. Huff finished in fourth place, while Nykjaer followed in fifth place just four tenths of a second further back.
