D.P.W.H. clears Bataan zigzag road
BALANGA CITY, Bataan — District Engineer Medel Chua of the DPWH 2nd engineering district here, said Sunday that they had already cleared the soil erosion that blocked the Zigzag road going to Mariveles town and that all types of vehicles can now pass through along the said road.
Parts of the Zigzag road became impassable after a landslide occurred along the foot hill, blocking the narrow but strategic zigzag road at the height of typhoon Falcon.
"It had been immediately cleared of mud and debris," said Engr. Chua. (Mar T Supnad)
Rebel returnees in greening program
BONTOC, Mt. Province — From former combatants to green warriors, the group of rebel returnees (RR) in the province will be actively joining in the national greening program pursuant to President Benigno Aquino III’s Executive Order No. 26 in order to significantly contribute in the consolidated efforts of all sectors nationwide to bring back the forest cover of open mountains provincewide.
Governor Leonard Mayaen told members of the Provincial Peace and Order Council that the RRs, now numbering 29, want to get involved in the nationwide tree planting program of government so that their contributions to the efforts of preserving and protecting the environment will be valued. D.T.I. gives computers in Bicol
MANILA, Philippines — Around 924 desktop computer sets, 84 printers and routers will be given to 84 public schools all over the Bicol area as part of the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) project Personal Computer for Public Schools (PCPS). According to DTI V information officer Jocelyn Berango, the IT equipment will be distributed to public schools in Albay, with 12 beneficiaires; Camarines Norte, 5; Camarines Sur, 38; Catanduanes, 6; Masbate, 10; and Sorsogon, 13. Tagaytay opens library and museum
CAVITE, Philippines — Tagaytay Mayor Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino and his administration have made another accomplishment on priority projects under their set program for the city and its citizens.
During the city's 73rd founding anniversary last Monday, Tolentino and the other officials inaugurated and opened the city’s first Library & Museum and two new buildings of two public elementary schools in the area.
Tagaytay, a city by the ridge, continued to progress with the performance and accomplishments of the city officials through the years in terms of economy, peace and order, environment, and education, among other developments.
The inauguration of the city’s library and museum were made only nine months after the city’s first Traffic Management Center, Special and Weapons Tactics Unit Office and a new police station building in the area. (Anthony Giron)
Housing caravan opened in Clark
CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga—Vice President Jejomar Binay is expected to grace the two days launching of Housing Caravan, which slated June 27 and 28 in the Hotel of Stotsenberg at the Freeport here.
William L. Beltran, spokesperson of Philippine Information Agency Region 3 said that Vice President Binay the keynote speaker will arrived around 10:00 am, in the morning.
The two days activity will highlights the strengthening of Local Government Units (LGU’s) in Housing Delivery and Local Development Planning, Beltran said.
