Motorcycle rider tumbles, hits car while escaping authorities in EDSA Busway

A motorcycle rider tumbled and hit another vehicle while evading Department of Transportation-Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (DOTr-SAICT) officers about to flag him for passing through the EDSA Busway on Monday, July 1.

In a video taken by DOTr-SAICT, a motorcycle rider can be seen cruising along the Ortigas southbound of the busway when the officers saw him.

When one of the officers instructed the rider to stop, the latter tried to escape by sharply swerving and accelerating, causing the rider to tumble down from his motorcycle which hit a black sedan.

The rider quickly got up and sped away aboard the motorcycle to evade arrest.

The DOTr-SAICT said it will request the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to issue a show-cause order against the rider for him to be able to explain and face the penalties.

Since the rider escaped, authorities are still determining who will pay for the black sedan's damages.
