Willie redirects attention to baseball

MANILA, Philippines – Willie Revillame took a break from his controversial battles and surprised everyone at the opening of the 1st Dominador Pangilinan Youth Baseball Invitational at the San Lazaro Leisure & Business Park in Cavite when he announced that he is donating P150,000 to the tournament.
The TV host was the guest pitcher during the opening ceremony that pits four champion Philippine baseball teams in a single round robin format.
When a tournament official told him that only trophies and medals will be given to the winners, Willie quickly announced his cash gift on the spot. The “WilTime BigTime” host confessed to having a soft spot in his heart for children and wants those participating in the baseball tournament to excel.
The four-day baseball tournament is being headlined by the Little Razcals who will represent the Philippines this year at the Protect Our Nation’s Youth (PONY) World Series in the United States of America.
The other three champion teams are the 2010 Metro Schools League champion Marikina Broncos, PONY Asian Championship bound Habagat, and South Asia Nankyu Championship bound Bagwis.
All of the players are children 12 years old and below.

Jeomy has a new baby
He was named “El Ultimo Participante” in ABS-CBN’s “Pinoy Fear Factor” two years ago, but don’t count Jeomy Teotico out yet. In the reality show, where he was named “Scorpio Man” Jeomy won P2-million cash prize.
Jeomy then put up a food kiosk in 168 (Divisoria) which is still doing well. In fact, he plans to put up more branches soon.
But these days, what’s exciting the 26-year-old Joemy is his new “baby” – a special events company named X Factor Productions, Inc. which he co-owns and co-manages with fellow PFF hunks Jose Sarasola and Manuel Chua (runner-up) and two others.
Jeomy has a degree in business which is helping him of course in his business endeavors, and so he is charge of finance. The group is now busy mounting travel shows as well as fun runs.
Jeomy isn’t quitting showbiz though. A Star Magic talent, he is in the cast of “Nasaan Ka Elisa?” which stars Melissa Ricks, Albert Martinez and Agot Isidro among others. And because he knows that to stay in showbiz one has to look his best, Beverly Hills 6750 is taking care of that for Jeomy through Curvex Advanced Body Contouring.
Jeomy is the aesthetic clinic’s first male endorser. By the way, the clinic’s second branch along Timog Ave. is set to open in July 2011.

Ilocano talent’s crush is Kris
This is interesting. A Macau-based fellow Ilocano talent named Clifford Allen Estrala has claimed he is in love with Kris Aquino. So smitten is he with the Presidential Sister that he has dedicated the song “Just A Smile Away” to her in YouTube and Facebook websites. He also almost joined “Pilipinas Got Talent” just to be near Kris.
Clifford, a 28-year-old native of Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, regularly performs in Singapore, Malaysia, and in Macau of course where he was guest during the recent 150th birth anniversary celebration of Dr. Jose Rizal.
Today, Clifford will also guest in a special event in Thailand and on Aug. 7 at the Bb. Pilipinas-Macau pageant.
Clifford won third place in the “Aawitan Kita” contest in 2001. Later, he was invited to sing with a band in Macau and that started it all. His life story has also been dramatized in “Maalaala Mo Kaya” and did a homecoming concert at Metro Concert Bar along West Ave. QC.
Clifford, who honed his vocal prowess when he was singing with his school choir, is now working on his dream of recording an album. “It’s one of my biggest dreams to have my own album,” Clifford said.

Claudine celebrates in ‘Spooky Nights’
Weekend TV viewers will see a different Claudine Barreto beginning July 2 in GMA-7’s “Spooky Nights Presents: Nuno sa Feng Shui.”
In celebration of her birthday month, the Kapuso actress stars in the horror-comedy series as Mila, a woman cursed by a “nuno” since childhood. She may have a beautiful face but her hips and legs are just unusually and distractingly huge.
Mila lives a pretty plain life – she works in a store, takes care of her bedridden father and believes she will be an old maid. Thus, she often daydreams and fascinates herself with Chinese astrology and charms.
Also in the show are TJ Trinidad, Tiya Pusit, Marco Alcaraz, Daniel Fernando, and Mona Louise Rey as the young Mila.
“Spooky Nights Presents: Nuno sa Feng Shui” airs after Carlo J. Caparas’ “Andres de Saya” on GMA-7.
