Parañaque LGU holds payout for 'Tara, Basa!' tutors

The Parañaque City government distributed cash assistance to 2,120 beneficiaries of “Tara,Basa!” tutoring program on Wednesday, September 11.

Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said the payout for the beneficiaries was held at Baranngay Don Bosco gymnasium and Barangay San Dionisio Sports Complex.

Olivarez explained that the “Tara, Basa” tutoring program is a cash-for-work program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in cooperation with the city government.

He said the beneficiaries who are parents of elementary students received P4,700 each.

The mayor said under the program, the beneficiaries are paid for serving as tutors of students who need improvement in their reading capabilities.
