3 groups feted for promoting MSMEs in Western Visayas

ILOILO CITY – Three groups were awarded the 2024 Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners for pushing micro, small, and medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the Western Visayas region.

REPRESENTATIVES of the Capiz State University Intellectual Property Management Office, Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation Inc., and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-Iloilo Chapter Inc. receive their awards from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. (DTI Region 6)

"We are immensely grateful for having development partners that help boost economic growth in terms of technology and innovation, market access, and finance,” said Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-6 Regional Director Rachel Nufable.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. awarded the three organizations during a ceremony in Malacañang recently.

The first awardee was Capiz State University Intellectual Property Management Office for improving access to technology and innovation by implementing the Capsule Technology Business Incubator.

The Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation Inc. of Negros Occidental was cited for improving access to finance category by implementing Project Dungganon.

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Iloilo Chapter Inc. (PCCI-Iloilo) was honored for improving access to markets category for implementing the Iloilo Business Expo (ILOBEX).

“Our DTI family truly appreciates and applauds their efforts and contributions in the regions,” added Nufable.

With Nufable during the awarding were DTI Iloilo Provincial Director Maria Dinda Tamayo, Capiz Provincial Director Ken Queenie Cuñada, and Negros Occidental Provincial Director Lynna Joy Cardinal.
