Marbil orders deployment of all available cops, PNP mobility assets for 'Carina' response
Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), ordered on Wednesday, July 24, the deployment of all available policemen and resources to help the people severely affected by typhoon “Carina”.
Marbil’s order was in compliance with the instruction of President Marcos for a swift response and assistance to the people affected by the weather disturbance in various regions amid reports of widespread flooding.
“The Chief PNP already gave instructions to deploy all available forces and resources to reinforce areas and regions affected by typhoon carina, as part of our humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts in coordination with relevant government agencies,” said PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo.
But she said they have already deployed a sufficient number of policemen and mobility assets to help the local government units in various disaster responses that include evacuation.
The policemen and police resources, she said, were deployed in various affected areas that include Metro Manila where severe flooding was reported in various areas.
“We already deployed our personnel to the affected areas as part of our humanitarian assistance and disaster response efforts,” said Fajardo.
“We also deployed our men to evacuation centers in NCR (National Capital Region). The mobility assets of the PNP were also dispatched,” she added.
Hundreds of families were reported to have been evacuated due to massive flooding in various parts of the country, including Metro Manila.
