MANILA, Philippines -- With new teleserye “Reputasyon,” ABS-CBN takes afternoon drama on a different level.

Cristine Reyes leads the powerhouse cast which also includes her real-life sweetheart Rayver Cruz. The TV serial banners the network’s Kapamilya Gold and from what we’ve gathered, the show is now keeping viewers glued to their seats weekdays after “Happy Yipee Yehey” with positive feedback.

Cristine plays the role of Agnes de los Santos, a simple woman with big dreams for her family. This role, according to Cristine, is her most challenging role so far ‘kahit itaya ko po ang repustasyon ko.’’

Rayver – who plays Henry – said he’s happy to be working with his girlfriend. “I look forward to our taping days kasi makikita at makakasama ko siya.’’

Jason Abalos completes the love triangle, as Boyet.

Co-actor and former QC Councilor Aiko Melendez was disappointed when she was told the show will be aired in the afternoon, and not on primetime. When it was explained to her that “Reputasyon” would be ABS-CBN’s frontliner for afternoon dramas, she accepted the challenge.

Also in the cast of “Reputasyon” directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Mervyn Brondial, are Jaclyn Jose, acclaimed directors Laurice Guillen and Celso Ad Castillo, Lito Pimentel, Emilio Garcia, Jill Yulo, Andre Garcia, John James Uy, and Deborah Sun who admitted, “Hindi maganda ang reputasyon ko noon, pero habang nabubuhay ang tao, maaayos niya ang buhay niya.”

Struggling musician now an entreprenuer

The local music scene abounds with struggling talents, but not everyone gets the big break so some look for their destiny in other fields, preferably still in line with music.

An example is businessman Marvin Dela Cruz who admits he was one of those unlucky wannabes. Yet he now says that he has succeeded somewhere else. His Red Damien Studios has blossomed from an ordinary band rehearsal studio to a multi-million venture providing first-class audio, lights, and band equipment for live concerts and special gigs.

Red Damien has become a top choice for live show promoters with its reliability and competence in giving just the kind of lights and sounds big-name artists and picky audiences require.

Red Damien is located at #7 Uranus St., Brgy. Bahay Toro, Congressional Subdivision, Quezon City.

Piolo, Bea team-up for Clear

Piolo Pascual and Bea Alonzo were launched recently as ambassadors of Clear Shampoo at Midas Hotel along Roxas Blvd.

When asked about what Total 3 Advantage mean to them, Piolo jokingly answered “Buhok ko will say it all… kaboom! I’ve been with Clear from the very beginning and I’ve always believed in the product and sa brand.” On the other hand, Bea said “The answer… is Clear. Di ba? Hindi niyo ba nakikita na I’m absolutely awesome… ’yan ang confidence!”

About Piolo, Bea said: “Guwapo siya, may ABS. Pandesal to the max, but on a serious note, he is very intelligent and calculated… always cool, calm and composed.’’
