MANILA, Philippines -- Wow! My inbox was full of emails asking about work that may be done at home and it was interesting to note that a lot of them asked about online work, specifically blogging. Musings, thinking out loud – this is blogging. I’ve been doing this pre-Friendster days. Blogging could be fun, exciting and for me, quite liberating.

My blogs usually start out with thoughts of people, places or events that awe-inspire me and for others it’s sharing great ideas especially when they are full of motivation. After a while, though, your excitement dwindles and the adrenalin rush fizzles out.

And when you’re not so amused any more, it’s time to start hunting for content, things to write about.

I learned that there are two aspects of finding content for your blog. First, find your focal point.

Your inspiration. This would bring out the original content on your blog. This can come from a variety of sources. Basically, it can be a news story, someone else’s Facebook post or Tweet, an interesting web page you stumbled across or even something a friend said, or anything that interests you enough to Google about.

The second aspect is to find links. A lot of bloggers have become experts at finding interesting content and providing a link and maybe a few words to recommend to their readers that they check out the original content on someone else’s blog or site. Some bloggers have even linked some of my archived articles in their sites (thank you).

Well, this doesn’t really make you produce original content for your blog but it surely gives your readers a whole wealth of info and resources.

All writers get into a slump so when you’ve reached rock bottom wracking your brains what do you do to keep the juices flowing?
