MANILA, Philippines – Kapuso tween star Julie Anne San Jose happily recalled how “American Idol” season 7 first runner-up David Archuleta personally extended his congratulations to her after his Manila concert last July 18.

“Nagulat ako kasi pinuntahan niya ko sa dressing room! Nag-'congratulations' siya sa 'kin tapos sinabi niya na okay naman daw yung performance [ko],” San Jose said in a taped interview aired on “24 Oras,” July 19.

San Jose also relived the moment she learned that Archuleta personally picked her to perform in his show.

“Siyempre hindi ko rin po akalain na yun nga po, parang personal choice niya ko sa concert niya na mag-front act ako. Then siyempre nakaka-flatter din and siyempre masaya kasi 'di ba David Archuleta, international artist pa,” San Jose said in the same “24 Oras” interview.

In a separate report aired on “Unang Hirit” on July 18, Archuleta said that "we wanted her specifically to come” after seeing videos of her performances because “I just really liked hearing her singing.”

“[I] hope that everyone else will enjoy hearing her sing, too,” Archuleta added.

For her performance, the “Party Pilipinas” mainstay sang  Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory,” Paramore’s “Decode,” Nicki Minaj’s “Superbass,” Tinie Tempah’s “Written in the Stars” and Rihanna’s “California King Bed.”

'Siyempre nakaka-flatter and very, very happy kasi marami rin pumalakpak and marami ring nagsigawan dun sa pagkanta ko sa concert," San Jose gushed.

The young performer expressed in another report on "Unang Hirit" her dream of having her own concert at the Big Dome "sa harap ng maraming tao."

"As in yung parang, as in solong concert ko talaga,” she said.
