1,000 kindergarten students in Manila receive bags with school supplies

At least 1,000 kindergarten students were given bags that contain school supplies from the Manila local government on Tuesday, August 6.
Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan led the distribution at Delpan Sports Complex and in Barangay 830 located in District 6.
In her brief message, the city mayor thanked the parents for enrolling their children early and encouraging them to pursue studies.
She appealed to them to see their children through until they earn a degree and to be patient with them.
Lacuna-Pangan also called on the school kids to study hard and listen to their parents and teachers at all times.
According to Manila-Department of Social Welfare (DSW) Head Re Fugoso, the recipients of the bag donations were Kinder 1 and Kinder 2 students from various districts of the city.
Fugoso added that the bags were given by the mayor to the school kids ahead of the start of their classes on August 19.
Each of the free bags contained a pair of rubber shoes, notebooks, pencils, a raincoat a book, a hygiene kit and a t-shirt.
