Iloilo City Council lauds Carlos Yulo

ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo City Council cited two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos “Caloy” Yulo for his achievements.

A resolution congratulating Yulo, proposed by Councilor Miguel S. Treñas, was unanimously passed during the regular session on Wednesday, August 7.

“Despite the challenges and adversities faced throughout his journey, including overcoming injuries and rigorous training regimens, he has shown remarkable resilience and determination, emerging victorious and lifting the Philippine flag high on the world stage,” the resolution said.

“His success deeply resonates with the Ilonggo people, motivating young athletes to pursue their dream and strive for excellence in their respective fields,” the resolution added.

“His outstanding performances have not only brought honor and pride to the Philippines, but also inspired countless young athletes to pursue their dreams and strive for excellence in their respective fields.”

Yulo’s “unwavering dedication to the sport of gymnastics and his contribution to elevating national pride internationally” was also commended by the city council.
