DPWH prepares for Panguil Bay Bridge project inauguration next month

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has conducted an onsite inspection of the Panguil Bay Bridge Project in Mindanao before the bridge's scheduled inauguration next month.

The 3.17-kilometer bridge, which will connect Tangub City in Misamis Occidental to Tubod in Lanao del Norte costs P7.375 billion and funded by a loan agreement between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea,

DPWH Senior Undersecretary Emil Sadain said the project is now over 97.5 percent complete.

During the inspection, officials assessed critical components such as the deck slab, approach roads, barrier and median strip concrete, metal guardrails, and ancillary structures.

The team also reviewed the progress of essential finishing tasks, including waterproofing, asphalt paving, expansion joint work, aesthetic and lighting system installation, line markings, and road signage.

The completion of the bridge is expected to cut travel time between Misamis Occidental and Lanao del Norte from two and a half hours by roll-on/roll-off vessels to just seven minutes by land.
