PPSA shoot fest in Quezon
LUCENA CITY, Quezon, Philippines – First ever happens in the province of Quezon. The 1st Aksyon Talaga Cup level 3 shooting competition sanctioned by Philippine Practical Shooters Association (PPSA) on August 19-21 at Ouans Worth Farm in barangay Kanlurang Mayao in this city.
Lucena City senior councilor Ramil Talaga, hosting the event said that the competition is open to all shooters in the country and this is the first time to come about and exciting event in the province. The event is coincided on the 50 years charter anniversary celebration of Araw ng Lucena on August 20, 2011. (Danny Estacio)
SLEX and NLEX budget released
SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga – The Manila North Tollways Corporation (MNTC) announced Wednesday the release of a total P300 million budget intended for the integration of the North Luzon (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac (SCTEX) expressways.
MNTC President and CEO Rodrigo Franco, in a press statement sent to Manila Bulletin disclosed that integration works consists of removing toll barriers in the Mabalacat area of the expressways and replace them with toll plaza entry and exits, relocation of the toll barrier in Segment 7 beside the SCTEX Tipo toll plaza, introduction of electronic toll collection in SCTEX and installation of traffic management systems like closed circuit television and emergency call boxes along SCTEX. SBMA to earn from terminal
SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) is expected to gain revenues this year after the agency signed a contract with the International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) for the full operation of the $215-million container terminal project here.
According to SBMA Administrator Armand Arreza, the agency signed the deal for the operation and management of phase two of the New Container Terminal (NCT2) with ICTSI, ensuring that container traffic will increase 200 percent. (Jonas Reyes)
Biñan computerizes
BIÑAN CITY, Laguna – A computerization project for the modernization of the city government was launched to attained advance service technology. City Mayor Marlyn "Len" Alonte said the project called "Upgrading of the Revenue Generating Systems of Biñan City" expressed her optimism about the computerization of the local government and hopeful that it would also achieve what other cities have now in terms of modernization of its technology.

Industrial park creates 3,000 jobs
SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga— Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) Region 3 director Leopoldo De Jesus disclosed Wednesday that thousands jobs will expected to generates once the new multi-billion yen project of the Hermosa Ecozone Industrial Park will start the construction of the facility this year.
De Jesus divulged that up to 3,000 careers will be up for grabs once Japanese firm Sumitomo Wiring Systems (SWS) group’s 6.5-hectare manufacturing facility begins its operations inside the Hermosa Ecozone Industrial Park in Bataan. (Franco G. Regala)
