Couple held, P2.1-M shabu recovered in Bacolod drug sting

BACOLOD CITY – A couple was arrested and 315 grams of suspected shabu valued at P2.1 million was seized in a buy-bust operation in Purok Langis, Barangay Banago here on Wednesday night, August 28.

Police Lt. Col. Antonio Benitez Jr., head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), identified the suspects as Inday, 23, of Barangay Banago, and her 24-year-old live-in partner and cohort.

Benitez said Inday was subjected to a three-week surveillance following complaints against her for her alleged illegal drug activities. He said that she was in the drugs watchlist of the CDEU.

The suspects were nabbed after they sold shabu to a police asset for P1,000.

They were tagged as high-value individuals due to the volume of shabu recovered.

Drug-related charges are being readied against the suspects who are detained at Police Station 3.
