Partly cloudy skies, isolated rain showers to prevail across the Philippines

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday, Sept. 24 said partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers are expected nationwide over the next two days.

PAGASA Weather Specialist Rhea Torres said there are currently no Low Pressure Areas (LPAs) or tropical cyclones being monitored inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

She said the easterlies, or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, remain the dominant weather system affecting the eastern parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The country will have generally fair weather but sudden rain showers may occur due to localized thunderstorms, she added.

This weather pattern is expected to continue until Thursday, Sept. 26.

However, Torres warned that by Friday or Saturday, Sept. 27 or 28, there is a possibility of an LPA developing near extreme northern Luzon or the eastern side of Taiwan.

She said Batanes and Babuyan Islands may experience the direct impact of this potential weather disturbance.

She advised the public to continue monitoring PAGASA’s updates as weather conditions may still change in the coming days.
